Marjorie's Funeral A trio of ne’er-do-well siblings has reunited for the funeral of their mother, Marjorie, in this dark comedy from Julian Farris Films. But the proceedings don't go as planned, and, through a series of unforeseen happenings, including the arrival of an unexpected guest, the siblings will come to understand why losing your mother can truly feel like the end of the world.
Amy Unger: Writer, Director
Amy Unger is an executive producer and features reporter for WFMZ - TV, Channel 69 News in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She’s also a member of the station’s award winning documentary unit and serves as Vice President of Julian Farris Films. She’s been nominated for several Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards. She’s also been recognized for her work by the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association, as well as the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters. Amy is the director and co-writer of Julian Farris Films’ documentary, Letters to Frieda, which was recognized with an Edward R. Murrow award. It also was named Best Documentary of 2015 by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters and the Greater Lehigh Filmmaker Festival. In addition, Letters to Frieda took home the audience award for Best Short at Bethlehem's 2015 SouthSide Film Festival. JFF's recent short films, Kids Who Kill: The Evolution of the Juvenile Justice System, The Bottle, Lighthouse Lady and Mayo Girl have been applauded in the festival circuit. JFF and the WFMZ Documentary Unit are currently in production on several documentaries that will premiere in 2016.
